The 2011 Core Stone is layered with a dominance of notes of dark fruits with a hint of cherry, violets and graphite on the nose. In the mouth this wine brings forward soft balanced tannins, licorice, raspberry, violets, and a smoky cocoa powder. Core Stone always shows off young because of the Cabernet Franc and this vintage is no exception. Nice structure, lovely acidity, polished finish and a vibrancy that make the 2011 very approachable now, but this wine certainly has a 10 year aging potential.
