This wine is an excellent blend of raw power and subtle nuance. Blackberry, violets, gingerbread, baking spice and roasted hazelnuts and wet earth in the nose. On the palate, the blackberry is evident as is a distinctive flourless chocolate cake, espresso bean and fine French oak barrel character. It has all of the seductive beauty and aromatics of fine Sangiovese and the intensity and power of Cabernet. It will age well for over a decade like fine Brunello, but will be accessible immediately with aeration or decanting. Pair this wine with Portobello mushroom pasta, Chateaubriand, and aged Pecorino cheese.
