This wine is a delicious blend that combines the best of the aromatic and medium-bodied Sangiovese with the brawny and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. The Sangiovese makes it approachable and an excellent companion to many dishes, and the Cabernet adds weight and makes the wine even more age-worthy. Our Riserva is meant to pair with Rack of Lamb, Prime New York Strip, Portobello Mushroom Pasta and Fresh Pecorino Cheese. It is densely hued, brambly, briary and full of ripe blackberry and cherry pie filling. There is maple and sandalwood on the nose and it is a complete wine and delicious on its own or with a meal. This wine will age well for in excess of a decade, but you may enjoy it now with slight aeration in a decanter.
